Walking in a Winter Wonderland

I love these vintage images they are what I think of as Traditional when Christmas meant snow and hand made. My image and papers were all free downloads.

Many thanks to everyone who leaves comments I really appreciate them thanks also to Jo and Lorraine who are my newest followers.

Busy day yesterday we went to Glasgow on the 7.11 from Huntly arriving there at 11.20, where we met my sister who lives near Edinburgh and my mother who lives in Renfrewshire. A few coffees later we met my son and his wife who had been in Florida for the past 3 weeks and then caught the 16.41 back home eventually arriving here at 9.45 pm. I feel wiped out today so am going to have a really lazy time. The weather is glorious so I'll sit outside for an hour or two.

Lace and Pearls

My second card as a Guest Designer for CD Sunday, today's challenge "Pearls and Lace " was chosen by Wynn. I don't use lace on my cards very often so decided to make things easy for me and use it as a feature border supporting the rest of the design. Since it was a wedding card I embossed the vellum with a Do Crafts hearts embossing folder.

The vellum was a mottled white and I used MCS's  The Artist Collection Disc 4 for the pink then put it through the printer again to print an overlay from Papermania's Capsule Collection, sadly the music overlay is barely visible.

Pop over to the Challenge http://cdsundaychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ to see the DT cards , why not enter the challenge as well?

Embossing Folder from Do Crafts

Candy Cane

A clean and simple card today this cute image caught my eye and this card may be for my son and daughter-in-law this year. I will need to think about it though as they both love Disney and there is loads of Disney Clipart available as well as colouring pages.

Thanks to all who continue to leave comments I really appreciate them.

Silent Night

Image from Mo Manning
Papers and embossing folder from Crafter's Companion Nordic Christmas

What a change in the weather yesterday we've gone from glorious sunshine to a day of mist and rain. I have stayed indoors and apart from doing an ironing have had a really lazy day.
Our son phoned from Florida this afternoon and they are basking with the temperature in the mid 30's, he says it is too hot but I wouldn't mind some of the heat here for a while.

the layout is the same as the last card on my blog but this one was made several weeks ago when I first got the CD Rom

Sweet Treat

I bought issue 8 of the Crafter's Companion magazine on Thursday and was really pleased to see this digi included in the stamps section, I should have bought it when it was available as a stamp but didn't.

Having hot chocolate with gingerbread on Christmas Eve is heavenly. I added some cinnamon to the card as I love some sprinkled on top of the cream.

Quite still

Image and papers from Joanna Sheen Jayne Netley Mayhew CD Rom

We had a super day on Thursday Vicki looked beautiful in her 50's style dress, her make up and hair were perfect for the period too. We didn't have long after the ceremony just enough time for a meal, then they left for Glasgow for the night before they flew to Florida for 3 weeks ( lucky them )
Their hotel in Florida a Disney one upgraded them to a suite since it was their honeymoon and provided complementary drinks and chocolates.

Thank You

First a big Thank You to the CD Sunday team for inviting me to contribute as a Guest Designer for the next 3 months.  I try and participate in their challenge regularly and am delighted to contribute.

The challenge for today, chosen by Carol is "Gorgeous Gowns "

When I received the challenge guidelines I decided to make a Thank You card for my new daughter-in-law's work colleagues who helped her achieve a 50's look for her wedding day. I believe this is called a swing and jive dress now, and is what she wore with a huge petticoat giving a full skirted appearance. She looked stunning, when they decided to have a very small wedding they didn't stick to any traditions at all.

Paper from Robert Adams CD Rom

I found paper piecing this digi quite easy apart from the tiny bows on the shoulder which were really fiddly.
